WHAT IS BRANDING?
For many people, Brand = Logo. And of course, a logo is a big part of your brand. Your real brand, however, extends far beyond the way your logo is designed. Your brand is the experience your customers have with you, from perception to reality, from expectation to result. Your brand has a personality and if you don’t define it others will do it for you.
Consider a well-known brand like Amazon. For most of us, our thoughts about Amazon go far beyond their logo. For example, I think of fast service, a vast quantity of products, and affordability, to name a few. I don’t get that from their logo – I get that from my experience as their customer.
The brand experience includes:
- The benefits you bring to your customers
- The feeling your product or service gives to your customers
- The opinion others have of your customers
- The promises you make to your customers
- Your follow through with your customers
